Racers Are Ready To Roll Tide At Barber Motorsports Park During This Weekend’s
Championship of Alabama
CA – September 13, 2017 – The final round of the 2017
North American Road Racing Championship is this weekend at Barber Motorsports
Park near Birmingham, Alabama, and the Yamaha bLU cRU teams are ready to race for wins and
wrap up a MotoAmerica Championship on Barber’s 2.38-mile, 17-turn road course.

Champion Josh Hayes considers Barber Motorsports Park to be one of his home
tracks, since it’s located only a few hours’ drive from where the “Mississippi
Madman” grew up in Gulfport, Mississippi. The southern charm and hospitality of
the ‘Bama fans make him feel right at home.
Hayes commented, “Barber
is a track that’s close to where I grew up, and it’s also where I won my first
AMA professional road racing championship, so it’s a special place to me. My
family and a lot of my friends will be there, too. It’s a fun track to race at,
and with the museum, it’s a fantastic place to finish out the season.”
Josh Herrin also considers
Barber Motorsports Park to be a home track for him, and the Dublin, Georgia,
native has a lot of laps under his belt at the facility, which is also located
a few hours’ drive from where he grew up.
“Barber has always been a
good track for me,” said Herrin. “And, after racing last weekend in New Jersey
and getting to know my #2 Monster Energy/Yamalube/Yamaha Factory
Superbike, I’m going to change my mindset a little bit. My plan is to go to
Barber and have some fun riding the bike. I want to get back to why I started
racing Yamaha motorcycles to begin with, and that’s to have fun, go fast, and
