Wondering what’s closed on Victoria Day? We’ve got you covered – New Brunswick

Make sure you get all your shopping done by the end of today.

Victoria Day is a statutory holiday and falls under the new Brunswick Days of Rest Act.

The act identifies the days that businesses, by law, have to be closed. This includes Sundays and 10 holidays, which can include statutory holidays.

However, some businesses can stay open, including gas stations, restaurants and hotels. Many recreation and cultural places, such as arenas, cinemas and museums, can also stay open.

Emergency services are not affected by the Days of Rest Act closures.


Retail and grocery

  • Regent Mall in Fredericton, McAllister Place in Saint John and Champlain Place in Moncton will all be closed on Monday.
  • Walmart stores will all be closed

  • Superstore locations are closed
  • NB Liquor corporate stores will be closed
