Utah Film Studios Hosts Kevin Costner Television Project “Yellowstone”

Utah Film Studios, located in Park City, Utah is a cutting-edge motion picture and television production facility. The 30-acre grounds, formerly home to Park City Film Studios, boasts 45,000 sq. ft. of purpose-built sound stages, 24,000 sq. ft. of production offices, a 10,000 sq. ft. construction mill with plans to develop the additional acreage to a total of 374,000 sq. ft. The current project being lensed at Utah Film Studios is Yellowstone, a scripted dramatic television series created by Oscar-nominated writer and director Taylor Sheridan.

Yellowstone is Kevin Costner’s television series debut and the first original scripted series greenlit for the brand new Paramount Network – replacing Spike TV in January 2018. Oscar-nominated writer and executive producer Taylor Sheridan is the creator of the series backed by Paramount. Alongside Costner, Yellowstone will star Brothers & Sisters alum David Annable, Gil Birmingham from Hell or High Water, and Wendy Moniz from Netflix’s House of Cards. Production of the 10-episode series is expected to bring $30 million to the Utah economy. The series is slated to air in the summer of 2018.

The show is contemporary drama focused on the Dutton family, led by Kevin Costner as John Dutton. The Duttons own the largest contiguous ranch in the United States. A ranch that is under attack from land developers, Native American reserves, and America’s first national park.
