Summer Camp

Register Now for Kids’ Summer Art Camp: Spark your children’s creativity this summer! There’s still time to enroll your children 7-14 in Summer Art Camp where they can immerse themselves in the world of art and drama. Two sessions are available: July 10-21 and July 24-Aug. 4. Art camp meets in the Visual Arts buildings on campus. Led by professional artists, campers will rotate classes during the day: drawing, painting, musical theater and 3-D design. Captain Rooftop: The camerawork and sound design for Julie Orser’s single channel video work takes a feminist approach against traditional seamless cinema. Orser’s “Captain” figure is an obsolete masculine character that makes a strong attempt to posture, to literally hold his ground, even when that ground appears to be unstable. As time progresses it becomes clear his actions are futile, they are just the facades of a showman, an actor, playing the role for which he has been cast. At Grand Central Art Center, 125 N.
