UFC 214 adds Korean Zombie vs. Ricardo Lamas, five other fights – Orange County Register

A Korean Zombie and a former UFC champion will be coming to Orange County in a couple months.

The UFC on Wednesday announced six fights added to the UFC 214 card scheduled for July 29 at Honda Center in Anaheim, led by popular featherweight Chan Sung Jung taking on Ricardo Lamas and former bantamweight champ Renan Barao facing Aljamain Stewart.

UFC 214 is headlined by the hotly contested light heavyweight title rematch between champion Daniel Cormier (19-1) and interim champion Jon Jones (22-1).

Jung (14-4), known as Korean Zombie for his aggressive style and granite chin, is ranked fifth in the 145-pound division. After serving two years of his mandatory military time in South Korea, he recorded a first-round knockout in February of Dennis Bermudez. Jung has won four of his past five fights — the only loss a fourth-round knockout against champion Jose Aldo in 2013.

Barao (35-4, 1 NC), who ruled the 135-pound division for nearly two years before being dethroned by TJ Dillashaw in 2014, is looking to climb back into the bantamweight rankings after a brief stint at featherweight. Sterling, ranked No. 8 in the division, shook a two-fight losing streak with a unanimous-decision win over Augusto Mendes last month.

Other fights announced:

• Strawweight Kailin Curran (4-4), who is looking to snap a two-fight skid, vs. Alexandra Albu (6-0), who won her UFC debut last month with a second-round guillotine choke of Izabela Badurek.

• Lightweight veteran Josh Burkman (29-15, 1 NC), who has lost three in a row, vs. Drew Dober (17-8, 1 NC), coming off a second-round rear-naked choke loss to Olivier Aubin-Mercier in December.

• Heavyweight Dmitrii Smoliakov (8-2), who has lost his only…
