The Super Summer Reader Club has a simple aim: Get people of all ages engaged in reading.

This summer, municipal and county libraries around Central Jersey have a similar goal as part of their own special programs which are crafted around the theme, “Build a Better World.”

We hope you have joined your local library’s program as well as our program, because really, what is more fun than reading.

To get community members engaged i its program, the Old Bridge LIbrary is presenting “Around the Town” Storytimes featuring Mary Owen Henry as well as other public servants as guest readers. The hour-long sessions  also feature a craft related to the stories being read and are geared for kids ages two and up and their families.

The sessions begin at 7 p.m. and are: Tuesday, July 18, Mayor Henry; Tuesday, July 25, Police Officer Patrick D’Onofrio; Tuesday, Aug. 1, Stephanie Colvell, first- grade teacher from Schirra Elementary School; and Tuesday, Aug. 15, Fire Marshall Tom Gerity
