As Life & Style previously reported, the 35-year-old actress has no interest in becoming the next Kate Middleton — aka a “life of shaking hands, cutting ribbons, and kissing babies in public.”
And Harry has offered to speak to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, to ease her fears about marrying into the famous family. An insider tells Life & Style, “If it comes to it, he’ll put his foot down and say no to some royal duties. Harry is strong-minded. He’s adamant about leading a normal life.”
Though, if they do get married, Meghan won’t be able to avoid every responsibility that comes with marrying a Windsor. “She just doesn’t want that to be her entire existence,” the insider adds.
Prince Harry himself recently admitted that he considered giving up his title after serving in the army, which he called the “best escape I’ve ever had.”
Of serving in the military, he said, “I felt as though I was really achieving something. I have a deep understanding of all sorts of people from different backgrounds and felt I was part of a team. I wasn’t a Prince, I was just Harry.”

The 32-year-old explained, “I felt I wanted out but then decided to stay in and work out a role for myself.” He described himself and his brother Prince William as “incredibly passionate with our charities and they have been chosen because they are on the path shown to me by our mother. I love charity stuff and meeting people.”
