Packet Demonstrates Qualcomm Centriq 2400 Running at Scale in the Cloud at Launch Event

Packet, the leading bare metal cloud for developers, will demonstrate its full complement of datacenter automation tools at the Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies event today featuring the launch of the Qualcomm Centriq™ 2400 processor. Packet’s demo will highlight tools including OpenFaas (function-as-a-service), Docker, and Docker Swarm that enable a true serverless compute model for microservices. To fully leverage the highly threaded, high performance cores of Qualcomm Centriq 2400 server processor, Packet will also use Caffe running at scale across hundreds of cores to demonstrate machine learning. Packet’s demonstration at the launch event builds upon its recent collaboration with Qualcomm where the two companies introduced the Qualcomm Centriq 2400 processor to developers at leading industry conferences throughout July, August and September.
