Five Crowns and SideDoor: Anthony Endy is the new executive chef at Five Crowns and SideDoor in Corona del Mar. Endy previously worked as director of culinary operations at Paul Martin’s American Grill.
Endy, who replaces Chef Steve Kling, has developed a few new summer dishes for Five Crowns. The following items debut June 22: Tuna tartare with avocado on rice cracker; peaches and burrata, shrimp cocktail; tomato bisque; seared tuna; pork chop with succotash and smoked bacon; scallops with asparagus; and a 32-ounce porterhouse steak for two served with duck fat roasted potatoes.
Farmers’ Market Flip: The Catch’s executive chef Cory Rapp and sous chef Patrick Ruiz recently squared off against two other chefs in a Cooking Channel competition show dubbed Farmers’ Market Flip. The two chefs dazzled the judges with their flavors while cooking with fresh ingredients from the farmers’ market in Torrance.
Soon after the win, Rapp updated The Catch’s menu with several new shared plates. The Catch, a popular hangout before Angel games, is 2100 E Katella Ave. in Anaheim.
The Lighthouse Bayview Café: Also tweaking its menu for the summer is The Lighthouse Bayview Café in Newport Beach. Executive Chef Ryan Sumner has added more than 25 new seasonal dishes at breakfast, lunch and dinner. A few of the new items include Egg White Frittata, BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders, Fish & Chips and Short Rib Grilled Cheese.

Tustin Ranch Golf Club: Sara Guccione has been tapped to be the executive chef at Tustin Ranch Golf Club. The Southern California Restaurant Writers has previously recognized Guccione in her previous roles as a pastry chef and sous chef at the club. She started June 5.
