LOCAL SPORTS BRIEFS: NCSD announces 2016-17 athletic awards | Sports

North Carolina School for the Deaf over the weekend announced its high school and middle school athletic awards for the recently completed 2016-17 season.

In high school football, Parker-Yared Anderson won most dedicated, and Morgan Evans was best defensive player. In high school boys basketball, Nycobian Lineberger was most outstanding player and Hunter Issac was most improved. For the girls hoops team, Ka Zoua Vue was most outstanding player and Nicole Soto was most improved.

In high school volleyball, Haley Futral and Martha Evans won teamwork awards. For high school track, Anderson was named outstanding long distance runner and Lineberger won outstanding field athlete.
