ALISO VIEJO – Aliso Niguel used the big play to beat Sonora, 41-21, Thursday in a nonleague game at Aliso Niguel High.

Three of Aliso’s six touchdowns were plays of 34 yards or greater. Tyler Jones scored three times with an 84-yard punt return and touchdown catches of 34 and 35 yards.

Aliso Niguel (4-2) scored 34 consecutive points against the Raiders (4-1).

With the game tied at seven, Aliso linebacker Chase Johnson blocked a Sonora punt and Hugo Toughey recovered it in the endzone to put Aliso ahead 14-7.
