JoAnn Coffey, 60, Galion, Ohio passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 at Millcreek Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.
JoAnn was born in Pike County, KY on Feb. 12, 1957 to the late John and Marie (Bevins) Comer. She married Michael W. Coffey on Sept. 22, 1984 and he survives her.
After graduating from Morehead State University, JoAnn taught K-12 and special education and will be remembered as an excellent teacher. JoAnn was a member of Centerpoint Church in Corpus Christi, Texas.
JoAnn loved spending time with her husband and would try anything he wanted to do. She also loved scrapbooking, shopping, and being out on a houseboat. JoAnn also wrote a book.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Paula Michelé and Nicky Aburamadan-Coffey, of Santa Fe, Texas, Michael Wayne and Jamie Coffey Jr., of Jamaica Beach, Texas; three grandchildren, her siblings, Joyce Haley and Phyllis Haynes, both of Pikeville, Kentucky, Janet and Phillip Caudill, of Galion, nieces and nephews, Curtis Atchley, of Burksville, Kentucky, Michellé Gilbert and Joshua Caudill, of Galion, Angie McCoy and Misty Haynes, of Pikeville, Kentucky and Darren Haynes, of Prestonburg, Kentucky, and also survived by other nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017 at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers JoAnn’s husband, Mike would love for you to spend time with your spouse or your significant other and enjoy a great dinner at your favorite location and talk about what you mean to each other.
