IDEMIA to revamp Columbia’s identification and civil registry platform

IDEMIA (formerly known as OT-Morpho) has been selected by the National Civil Registry of Colombia, the Colombian government agency overseeing citizen identity, to update the identification and civil registry platform.

As the trusted database of citizens’ biometric and alphanumeric data, the identification and civil registry platform ensures the uniqueness of identities.

IDEMIA has worked with the RNEC since the beginning of this project as well as has constantly supported the solution’s successive improvements.

Seeking a need to reinforce the platform to offer new services to the government and to the population while maintaining increased security and user satisfaction, RNEC decided to partner with IDEMIA.

Through the new contract, IDEMIA will improve the capacities of the platform and provide technological and functional upgrades to RNEC and its users at large.

IEMIA will also add a new biometric security feature using facial recognition, making user identification easier while at the same time increasing security.
