How U2 fans had a beautiful day at the Rose Bowl – Orange County Register

Hours before U2 even set foot on stage at the Rose Bowl for the first night of its two Los Angeles “Joshua Tree” 2017 Tour stops, the group’s music was blaring at the venue.

Some of it was coming from the back of Alberto Linares’ SUV as the Los Angeles resident popped open his trunk, turned his car radio up and cranked songs from the album.

Linares was parked on the Brookside Country Club golf course lawn waiting for the Rose Bowl doors to open, and he was happy to show off his pre-concert setup.

“This is how it’s done,” he said proudly, holding a beer in one hand and extending the other to show off his spread: a cooler full of drinks and food surrounded by a couple of folding chairs, all under the shade of a canopy.
“You gotta be here early and ready for U2,” he said over the music.
