Family History Expo To Be Held In St. George

Does family history work conjure up visions of traipsing through long-forgotten, overgrown cemeteries, or rummaging through dusty boxes of musty, yellowed papers for names and dates? If so, you will want to be sure to attend the Family Roots Expo, this Friday and Saturday, September 15-16, at the Dixie Center in St. George, Utah.

The Expo offers two concerts, eighty classes, Keynote speakers, accredited genealogists, and youth classes for ages twelve to eighteen. The Interactive Expo Hall, FREE to the public, will be filled with things to see and do. It will include scrapbooking, calf roping, cowboy poetry, family history through painting, games. An authentic Pioneer Experience will be offered complete with candle making, rug weaving, blacksmithing, mountain men, panning for gold, and Native American dancers.

The Family Roots Expo kicks off Friday morning with Keynote speakers, Merrill and Justin Osmond. Other keynote speakers include Daniel Rona, the Eyre Family, John Bytheway, Glen Rawson, and Dallin A. Larsen.

On Friday evening Chris Petersen will perform in “A Salute to Our Veterans” concert. Chris is the real deal, and you’ll be boot scootin’ in the aisles as he entertains with great classic country music.

Saturday night, Number One Billboard Artist, GENTRI will dazzle your ears with their signature sound they describe as “Cinematic Pop.”

The expo offers 80 classes on Family History and Technology to choose from, and over 110 booths with professionals to help you with details and dilemmas.
