WEST HILLS — It was a homecoming for Orange Lutheran quarterback Ryan Hilinski on Friday night.

The San Fernando Valley native brought his team on the road and defeated Mission League-champion Chaminade 28-25 in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs.

Orange Lutheran (6-5) will play Mission Viejo next week in the second round.

Hilinski completed 27 of 37 passes for 339 yards and three touchdowns.

With 33 seconds left in the third, Chaminade closed the deficit to 10 when Stevens found Wilson from 21 yards heading into the fourth quarter.

Wilson finished the game with eight catches for 171 yards and two touchdowns.

Chaminade got within three points when Stevens hit Mac Griffin from 15 yards out with 7:18 left. On the ensuing possession, Hilinski relied on a heavy run game to posses the ball, giving the ball back to Chaminade on its own 23-yard line with 1:55 left in the game.
