Antenna Group restructures Greek senior management | Major Businesses

Aiming to support the group’s growing ambitions in both local and international markets, media and entertainment organisation Antenna Group has restructured two roles within its senior management team at its Athens HQ.
Created in 1989 and with offices in Amsterdam, London, Athens and New York, Antenna Group owns and operates a portfolio of media assets across a variety of technological platforms. The group’s activities include free-to-air TV and pay-TV channels, online and digital ventures, TV production and content distribution. Its content and channels are carried on networks including Time Warner Cable, DISH, Foxtel and Unity Media.

The new structure is also said to reflect Antenna Group’s commitment to strategic international growth combined with regional innovation and development.

In the first appointment, Stratis Liarellis, currently managing director at Antenna Television in Greece, has been promoted to executive director of group policy at Antenna Group. In the newly created role, Liarellis will be responsible for driving the group’s growth in Greece by identifying new business opportunities, diversifying the group’s Greek operations and delivering local strategic direction as well as overall responsibility for the group’s public affairs remit in Greece. Since joining Antenna Group, Liarellis has played a role in driving its local growth, providing strategic direction and insight as the company grew its brands and operations in the region.

In the other key move, Antenna’s general commercial manager Tassos Michalakis, has been promoted to managing director of Antenna Greece. Michalakis will be responsible for the company’s leading free-to-air channel, ANT1 TV, as well as the wider group’s growing digital portfolio which include the recently launched subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service, Ant1 Next, as well as the Netwix OTT service and other digital assets.
