American Marketing Association Appoints New Chief Operations Officer and Chief Experience Officer

Jennifer Faris Severns joins AMA as Chief Experience Officer

Creating a great member experience and having a meaningful dialogue with members is absolutely vital to the success of AMA and marketing today.

The American Marketing Association (AMA), the largest marketing association in the world, today announced the appointments of Jeremy Van Ek as its Chief Operations Officer and Jennifer Faris Severns as its new Chief Experience Officer.

Van Ek joins AMA with more than 15 years of experience in the marketing industry, including working at Edelman, Arc Worldwide and most recently Trisect, where he was the Chief Financial Officer. As Chief Operations Officer at the American Marketing Association, Van Ek will lead AMA’s financial, operational, and human resource strategies.

Jennifer Faris Severns, a global authority in customer experience and marketing, will lead AMA’s efforts to rapidly grow the Association’s membership base and continue to position AMA as the pre-eminent force in marketing for thought leadership and valued relationships across the entire marketing community. 

Severns joins AMA with more than 20 years of experience. Previously, she led creative strategy for large-scale experiences serving Fortune 500 brands such as Allstate, Mondelēz International, and Cisco. She built and led the creative and digital team for Omnicom’s premiere social media agency, Zócalo Group, and she spent nine years directing digital and creative strategy for Oprah.
